Ice skating is without a doubt one of our most favorite things to do during winter. It’s fun, it’s a great exercise for the hips, it warms you up, and you usually end up laughing a lot.
So, without any further ado, let us introduce to you the open ice skating rinks in Sofia for the winter 2016 – 2017.
The Winter Palace
The Winter Palace is located in Student’s Town (Studentski Grad) in Sofia and there’s usually enough parking. Here’s the location of the parking entrance.

Tuesday: 19:00 – 20:30
Wednesday: 19:00 – 20:30
Thursday: 19:00 – 20:30
Friday: 19:00 – 20:30
Saturday: 17:00 – 18:30 and 19:00 – 20:30
Sunday: 17:00 – 18:30 and 19:00 – 20:30
Prices:
Entrance fee – 5 lev
Instructor – 5 lev
Ice skates (rent) – 4 lev
Wardrobe – 0.50 lev
Ice skates sharpening – 5 lev
Slavia
Accross town, near the well-known area of Borovo there’s another place you can go for ice skating. Slavia also has it’s own parking and you can leave your car right outside the ice-skating rink here.
P.S. This particular ice skating rink is open during the summer as well, but it only works on Saturdays from 18:00 – 19:30.

Ariana Lake
The ice-skating rink on Ariana lake is located downtown Sofia, in the beginning of Boris’ garden (Borisova Gradina). It’s a really cool place, but please be extra careful there – unlike the above two places it’s more famous amongst non-professionals and they can be dangerous. The coolest thing about Ariana lake ice skating rink is that it’s open 24/7 🙂
