Think There’s Not Much To Do In El Paso? Think Again!

Think there’s not much to do in El Paso? Think again!

Ask people about El Paso, and many will tell you there’s not much to do there. “Couple of parks,” they say, “but nothing spectacular.” Yet they seem to dismiss the fact that Americans are creative people and manage to turn every place into an exciting adventure park. Way to go, America!

Since I didn’t believe that El Paso is boring, I did my own research to find out more about the city. It turns out that there’s quite a lot to do in this Texan hotspot. All of these activities will help you make great memories in El Paso.

1. Spray Parks

Don’t get discouraged thinking that spray parks are just for kids. It’s true that grown-ups don’t often take advantage of everything that life has to offer, but that’s our mistake. I’ve never been to a spray park, but the minute I step foot into one, I promise to forget my age and play like a kid again for at least two hours. In El Paso, you’ll find seven awesome spray parks.

2. Wet ‘N’ Wild Waterworld

El Paso is in Texas, so a water park is necessary for cooling off. Wet ‘N’ Wild Waterworld seems to have it all, from extreme waterslides to chill pools where you can relax with or without your kids.

3. Western Playland Amusement Park

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for your annual dose of adrenaline! Get the cameras ready, too. The facial expressions that you can capture in an amusement park are worth billions, especially when you add them to family photo albums.

4. Sierra Providence Events Center

You’re in Texas, and there’s the opportunity to go ice skating, even though the temperatures rarely drop below 0 Celsius. You don’t need any additional convincing, right?

5. Rockin’ Jump El Paso

This is, without a single doubt, the coolest idea ever created! I don’t know if you’ve ever tried jumping when you feel angry or frustrated. I have, and it’s the best cure for negative emotions of any sort. This incredible trampoline park has taken jumping to a whole new level, making it an absolute must-visit place.

Bonus Place: Licon Dairy

This isn’t your traditional farm or zoo. It’s the definition of cool. Licon Dairy lets you pet and feed a range of animals including buffalo, sheep, llamas, deer, goat, ostriches, donkeys, peacocks, longhorns, parrots, and more. If you’ve ever wondered where in the world would be the best place for the most unique selfie, this is your answer!

Where to Stay in El Paso

I want to share all of these activities with my family, and I bet you do, too. Here’s a link with a great selection of family-friendly hotels in El Paso perfect for adventure seekers.

Where to Eat in El Paso

Cattleman’s Steakhouse isn’t merely the best restaurant in El Paso according to just about anyone who’s been there. It’s also a typical Western ranch, just like in the movies. Furthermore, it’s a place where quite some legendary movies were shot. Take a look at the titles here and do add a day in El Paso just for that. You won’t regret it.

While researching El Paso, I felt the travel bug bite again. Surely you’ll agree that the city is worth adding to your list of destinations in the U.S. Besides, even its name is cool enough to add to your personal map!
